10 things you might not know about me (even if you follow me on Instagram!)

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I love talking about all things brand strategy, identity design, and running a creative business… but I tend to keep my personal life behind the scenes.
1. I’ve known I wanted to be a designer since I was five
No joke. While other kids were dreaming about being astronauts or popstars, I was obsessed with colours, drawing, and packaging design. I was that kid who loved the stationery aisle more than sweets.
2. I studied at the best place for creatives in Manchester
I trained at Stockport College, which was the place to be if you wanted to get into design at the time. I considered Central Saint Martins (UAL) but didn’t feel good enough to apply. Imposter syndrome, right? Funny how that sticks with you.
✨ Fast-forward: I now hold a certificate in strategic branding, identity and brand experience from UAL. Full circle moment!
3. I worked my way up to managing an agency studio
I started as a junior designer and hustled my way up to studio manager at a brilliant agency. I’ve had the joy of working with some incredible brands like ASICS, Dr. Martens, Under Armour, and New Balance. Big names, even bigger lessons.
4. I met my husband and we booked a one-way ticket
Two weeks into dating, we decided to travel the world together. Thailand, Australia, Indonesia... you name it. We lived out of backpacks and surfed our way through our twenties. We’ve barely been apart since. 💛
5. I dreamt up my business on a beach in Thailand
Lying in the sun with my feet in the sand, I started writing ideas for a creative business. That notebook came home with me and sat on my shelf until one day… I decided to open it. And the rest is history.
6. We bought our first home for £75k
It was a total wreck. But it was ours. We poured everything into renovating it, learning on the job and making it a home. That kicked off our addiction to DIY, property and, yep, daily Rightmove scrolling.
7. We also bought a camper van!
In the same year we bought our second house, got married, and found out we were having a baby. Go big or go home, right? We promised each other to do something incredible every year, and we’ve stuck to it!
8. I took the leap and started my business 6 years ago
Starting this studio was a dream that sat quietly in my notebook for years. One day I decided to go for it, and I’ve never looked back. It’s still one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
9. I now live with… quite the crew
Two kids, one labrador called Alma, a tortoise, and a husband who’s equally obsessed with houses. We’re currently renovating our 5th home and already plotting the next one. Yes, I’m on Rightmove daily. No, I don’t plan to stop.
10. I have so many plans for the future
From growing my design studio to launching new creative offers, writing, teaching, maybe even a product line… I’m never short of ideas. My brain’s a constant mix of colour palettes and big dreams.
